Itinerary Details
Day 1: Dar-es-Salaam – Selous
Take a 45-minutes flight from Dar es salaam to Selous game reserve. With three nights on safari in the magnificent Selous, you have a unique opportunity to experience everything that this vast and magnificent reserve has to offer. Covering 55,000sq kms of dense bush and savannah the Selous protects over one million large animals, the largest buffalo concentration in Africa; over half of Tanzania’s elephants and one third of Africa’s entire population of the rare and endangered wild dog. Overnight at Selous Serena Luxury Camp
Day 2: Selous National Park.
After breakfast choice of several activities, Walking Safari, Boat Safari or Game drive. There are large populations of elephant in the park. Over 70 % (60 000) of Tanzania’s elephants are found in this reserve. Other well known animals include the hippo (40 000 inhabit the river systems), depleted numbers of the black rhino, large herds of buffalo (over 160 000), the area’s famous wild dogs and 5 000 lion patrol the Reserve. Also found here are Nyasaland gnu, brindled gnu, hartebeest, Greater Kudu, sable antelope, eland, reed buck, bushbuck, waterbuck, warthog, zebras, giraffe, wildebeest, leopard and cheetah are rare. Day 3: Selous National park
Day 4: Selous National Park – Fly to Dar-es-Salaam
After breakfast, Game Drive, Boat Safari or take a Walking Safari, Lunch and then Fly back to Dar es Salaam arriving late evening for onward flight.
