The Best Time to visit Kilimanjaro National Park is during the dry seasons, from late June to October and from December to February. These months offer optimal weather conditions for climbing and exploring the park.
- June to October: Dry season, best for trekking and wildlife viewing.
- December to February: Warm weather, excellent for climbing and shorter hikes.
- March to May: Wet season, quieter trails but challenging for climbing.
How to Reach
Kilimanjaro National Park is easily accessible via Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), located about 45 minutes from the park’s main entrance, Marangu Gate. Visitors can take direct flights to JRO from major hubs like Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, or Zanzibar. From the airport, it’s a short drive to the park’s entrance points, where guided treks begin. Alternatively, travellers can opt for a 6–7-hour road trip from Arusha or Moshi, two popular base cities. Both towns offer accommodation and services for trekkers.
