WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING ON SAFARI:
- Money for personal spending and tipping (at the end of thetour) approximately Kshs.1000 a day (small denominations).
- Rucksack/ small hard suitcase is ok (maximum 20kgs).
- A pair of long trousers and fleece for the cool mornings and evenings in addition to plenty of light clothes for hot days (temperatures in Lake Turkana can reach 40°C), safari hat/cap, swimsuit, trainers, sandals.
- Head torch, sunglasses, suntan lotion/spray, insect repellent/spray.
- Additional mineral bottled water and beverages (buy bulk of supply from Nairobi).
- Camera, batteries, memory cards, binoculars, maps, guidebooks, reading book.
- Additional toilet paper, towel, wet wipes, soap and toothbrush/paste/ personal Toiletries.
- All personal travel/ medical insurance.

Itinerary Details
Day 1: Nairobi - Maralal
Early morning departure form Nairobi and proceed northwards to Nyahururu. Stop over at Thomson’s falls a 74 meters waterfall on the Ewaso Ng’iro River in central Kenya, a few kilometers from Lake Ol Bolossat, which drains from the Aberdare Range. The water in a dense forest on the fringes of Mt Kenya and the Great Rift Valley was a site to behold.
Proceed to Malaso viewpoint which is often referred to as the “Earth’s End” named by Sir Wilfred Thesiger a British explorer, writer and resident of Maralal.
The viewpoint at the floor of the Kenyan Rift Valley in Samburu forms one of the steepest escarpments across the Eastern Gregory Rift. Much of this area is characterized by dry rolling savannah woodlands, fertile soils from solidified lava flows and vertiginous escarpments straddling Samburu, Turkana and Baringo counties.
Overnight at Ngari Hill Ecolodge (Full Board) an eco-friendly lodge which is wedged between the town of Maralal and Kirisia Forest is located among Samburu villages on top of a hill at an altitude of 2000 meters.
Day 2: Maralal - Loiyangalani
After breakfast proceed further north. Visit the Lake Turkana wind farm. The project is located at a remote location, approximately 12 Kms east of Lake Turkana in northwestern Kenya in Loiyangalani District, Marsabit County. This is the best place to go trekking, on a camel safari and walking safari. It is the only place in the world where a camel derby is held for both amateurs and professionals.
Overnight at Malabo Resort (Full Board) an oasis of refreshment in the dry and windy country side. Day 3: Ol Pejeta - Lake Nakuru national park
Early morning breakfast and leave for Lake Nakuru national park with en route stopover at Thomson Falls (Guest entry fees payable) arriving in time for lunch and check in at the booked Lodge. Afternoon game drive across the ornithological paradise often referred so due to its Great masses of Flamingos not forgetting the famous white and black rhino found in this park. During peak season over millions of flamingos and pelicans congregate on the lake. Serves as a great birding destination.

Day 4: Loiyangalani - North Horr
North Horr is contained in Marsabit County. Sand Dunes and sundowner in the desert (Please bring your own soft drinks and alcohol)
Enjoy access to sights and activities in the surrounding area during your stay in North Horr.

Day 5: North Horr - Marsabit
Kalacha: Here you are spoilt for choice, since there are many places to visit. You can make a trip to the villages to gain insights into the culture and traditions of the Gabbra people. These include their dances and plays depicting traditional marriage ceremonies.
One can also visit the ancient rock art site, which has paintings of giraffes, elephants, and antelopes.
Lunch in the Chalbi Desert The scenic view of the forested mountains of South Horr and Kulal lie to the west as one continues north into the Chalbi desert.
Overnight at Saku Guest House (Full Board)
Day 6: Marsabit / Namunyak Conservancy
Namunyak means ‘the place of peace’ in the Samburu language. A remote paradise for nature lovers.
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Marsabit National Park. The beautiful Marsabit National Park is a refuge for huge tusked bull elephants, diverse birdlife and reptiles. Hikes in the dense forest, wreathed in mist can be enjoyed along with camel rides, bird watching and visits to the singing wells.
Overnight at Sabache Camp (Full Board) The private eco safari camp is located at the base of Mt Ololokwe
Day 7: Sabache – Nairobi
After breakfast take a drive to Nairobi
Stop at the equator crossing
Arrive in Nairobi before dusk.
