Visit the three main basilicas of Rome: Santa Maria Maggiore, San Giovanni in Laterano, the Pope’s cathedral located near the Lateran Palace, the former residence of the Popes. In Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano is the highest obelisk in Rome.
Afterwards, visit the second largest church in Rome, St Paul Outside the Walls.

The Basilica is open every day from 07h00 to 18h45 with free admission. The only attention we ask you to use concerns the celebrations in progress: on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, in fact, there are often celebrations at the Central Altar and during the latter, visits are not allowed. On Saturdays and Sundays, the Basilica can be visited easily between 1pm and 4.30pm. At the moment it is not possible to book guided tours for groups. It is possible to enter with an external guide without booking. At the moment it is possible to see only the Basilica, not the Loggia and the Museum: these are, in fact, undergoing maintenance.

Hours: Visiting hours are from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm. The last guided tour in the morning starts at 12h00. The last guided tour in the afternoon starts at 17h00. Holy Thursday at 4.30pm. The ticket office closes at 4:50 pm. The catacombs can only be visited in groups of at least two people, accompanied by one of our collaborators. Guided tours start every 30 minutes and last approximately 40 minutes. Closing days: Every Wednesday, January 1st, from January 23rd to February 19th, Easter, December 25th. Visitors are accompanied by guides of their own language, but in moments of great influx with large groups of the same language, the visit takes place as follows: The groups receive an extensive explanation on the outside about the catacombs (history, symbols, crypts and galleries, frescoes and tombstones);then, they go down accompanied in the catacombs walking calmly, but without stopping in the crypts and galleries, because given the narrowness of the spaces no further explanations are possible.

Visit to the new church of St. Pio where the body of the Saint has been placed in a silver casket. We will spend some time here to venerate the Saint. St. Pio who received the stigmata in September 20, 1918 in both his hands and feet, exactly like the five wounds of Christ. He suffered most grievously physically and mentally. Pls note: St Francesco bus parking is 80/900 mt far from the Santuary. You can reach the Santuary either on foot or by shuttle at 1 euro per person and way.

[14:00] MONTE SANT’ANGELO – GUIDED TOUR (2H GUIDE)
Perched on top of a hill 800 meters above sea level, Monte Sant’Angelo is renowned for the Sanctuary of the Archangel Michael, the oldest sanctuary in Europe, built over a cave in which the Archangel appeared more than once . Also not to be missed is the Rotari Tomb, an ancient and splendid medieval baptistery, and the Church of S. Maria Maggiore (Santa Maria Maggiore).
