Itinerary Details
Day 1: Arrival at Seronera – Wayo Little Green Camp
Arrive at the Seronera Airstrip where you’ll be welcomed by your guide and begin your journey to the Wayo Little Green Camp at Kilimafeza. Upon arrival, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch and take some time to settle into camp. In the afternoon, embark on a short loop walk through the surrounding wilderness, ending the day with relaxing sundowners as the sun sets over the Serengeti plains. Overnight at Wayo Little Green Camp.
Day 2: Walking Across the Flood Plains
After breakfast, continue your walking safari across the vast and scenic flood plains, now dry and open, offering sweeping vistas of the Serengeti landscape. The route takes you through a mixture of open plains and small forested patches, rich with wildlife and birdlife. Camp will be set up in one of these peaceful forest areas. Overnight at Wayo Serengeti Walking Camp.
Day 3: Journey to Lobo Region
Today’s walk leads you toward the dramatic Lobo rocks, an area where the woodland thickens and wildlife sightings become more frequent. This region is known for its larger herds of elephants and dense concentrations of animals. Camp will be established beneath a cluster of magnificent fig trees, providing shade and a serene atmosphere. Overnight at Wayo Serengeti Walking Camp (Lobo).
Day 4: Hike to Buffalo Camp
Continue your journey around the northern reaches of Lobo, gradually climbing onto the foothills. The campsite for tonight, known as Buffalo Camp, offers breathtaking panoramic views across the Northern Serengeti. Enjoy a hearty dinner and an evening around the campfire, listening to the sounds of the wilderness. Overnight at Serengeti Walking Camp (Buffalo Camp).
Day 5: Ridge Line Camp – Following the Migration
This morning, the trail turns westward into the woodlands, an area often teeming with migrating animals depending on the season. As you walk, you’ll experience the thrill of being surrounded by the rhythm of the Serengeti migration. The camp will be set up on top of a ridge line, offering spectacular sunset views. Overnight at Serengeti Walking Camp.
Day 6: Walk to Bologonja River – Wilderness Usawa Camp
Continue walking deeper into the Northern Serengeti, following natural drainage lines that eventually lead to the Bologonja River. Here, you’ll arrive at Wilderness Usawa Camp, where you can relax and unwind after days of exhilarating adventure. Enjoy a well-deserved rest surrounded by pristine wilderness.
Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, bid farewell to your camp team and the wilderness of the Serengeti. Depending on your onward travel plans, you will be transferred to the nearest airstrip for your flight or journey to your next destination.
Note: This walking safari can be shortened or lengthened as required and walking can happen year-round in the Serengeti.
