How to Reach
Tsavo East National Park is easily accessible from both Nairobi and Mombasa. Located about 200 kilometres southeast of Nairobi, the park can be reached by road in 3 to 4 hours via the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. The main entrance, Buchuma Gate, is well-connected and suitable for self-drive safaris or guided tours. For a quicker option, daily flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport land at nearby airstrips, such as the Tsavo East Airstrip, reducing travel time significantly.
If you prefer public transport, buses and matatus run regularly to nearby towns like Voi and Mtito Andei, from where a short transfer will take you to the park entrance. The scenic journey offers a preview of the wild beauty ahead.
